Volunteer

Volunteering at Open Meadow is a great way to get to know our students and the things they are doing to get their educational lives back on track. Opportunities vary from tutoring students in their academic subjects, spending one hour in a classroom sharing your expertise on a topic, to providing an internship opportunity for a student, to making a year-long commitment as a mentor a couple of hours a month. Last year, our amazing volunteers contributed more than 9,100 hours of service to our programs.

For general information about volunteer activities review our volunteer rubric.  On-going volunteers must fill out a Volunteer Application, attend a brief orientation and go through a background check. We ask that volunteers make a semester long-commitment to the organization.

Open on-going volunteer opportunities include:
Step Up Tutor
Spanish Translation Assistant

Throughout the year we have events where one-time support is needed including:
Got Game, May 2012
Graduation, June 2012
Craft Dash, July 2012

Check back for more details on these episodic opportunities as we get closer to these dates.
